From the First Take to Listeners Worldwide

A recording can begin in one room and reach listeners almost anywhere. The distance between those two moments is filled with thousands of choices—about performance, sound, editing, mixing, mastering, artwork, and release strategy.

SodaPop approaches that process as both an artistic endeavor and an economic project. Musicians are paid for their work, each master is built to a professional standard, and the finished recording is prepared to create value beyond a single release-day spike.

Streaming is one channel, not the entire plan. A strong master can support licensing, video, promotion, physical products, and new audience discovery throughout a much longer life.

Tracks can be recorded live at SodaPop House or captured remotely and submitted for production. “Blow,” a single by The Dead Air Saints, is a good example of this flexible approach. The vocals, bass guitar, and Hammond B3 organ were recorded at SodaPop House. The drums were recorded in State College, Pennsylvania, while the guitar tracks were recorded in Foothill Ranch, California.

The individual performances were brought together, mixed, and mastered at SodaPop House. SodaPop Records then released the finished single worldwide—and within a week, it was being recommended to new listeners through Spotify’s algorithm.
